Summer, 1941.
The tiny island of Malta, an isolated British stronghold and crucial source of supplies point for the Allied operations in the Mediterranean and North Africa, has become the most bombed place on earth, attacked incessantly by waves of German and Italian aircraft. For the fighter pilots of the RAF, outnumbered and equipped with ageing Hurricanes, defeat seems almost certain. Kit Curtis and Ossie Wolf have survived the Fall of France and the Battle of Britain, but now they are tested to the limit in the chaos of imminent invasion.
