Publisher of Frank Barnard’s novels, Headline was founded in 1986. Five years later it was named Publisher Of The Year at the British Book Awards. In 1992 it acquired Hodder & Stoughton to form Hodder Headline.

Today, as a division of the Hachette UK group, it ranks as one of the most successful consumer book publishers in Britain. Its authors include Martina Cole, Penny Vincenzi, Jonathan Kellerman, Orange Prize winner Andrea Levy and Jed Rubenfeld. Its’ non-fiction list covers entertainment, sport, cookery, gardening and business.
